On October 22, 2022, the League of Women Voters of Montgomery attended the annual Walkathon of the Alabama Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. The event was held at Ida Belle Young Park and attended by folks from all over the state.
Approximately 100 people participated. We registered several who were new to Alabama, and changed addresses for a few who had moved. One woman took a voter registration form for her 18 year old nephew. She said he would absolutely be registering and voting. She would make sure of that.
It was a beautiful early fall day. The event was impressively organized and pleasant and we appreciate being invited to attend.

The League of Women Voters of Montgomery joined the staff of Montgomery Recovery Community to register voters October 11, 2022.
Julie Reese from LWV Birmingham drove down to help with voters who had been incarcerated and were not sure they could vote. Most of them can! We are trying to get that word out, and we can help anyone who runs into a problem, or has questions.
