Lander Thunder Rec Soccer League in lander, wyoming

Lander Thunder Rec Soccer is committed to providing a fun, recreational league each fall and spring for kids aged 5-12. Our goal is for kids to learn the basics of soccer, sportsmanship, and the joy of playing sports.

REGISTRATION 

Note about registration - registration includes one fee of $45.00.  Insurance covers both the Fall and the Spring season for the year.  If your child played in the Fall, as long as you use the same account for registration, the system should recognize your previous insurance payment and you will not need to pay the insurance fee again. Spring season 2026 dates

Eligibility:  Players must be 5 years or older 

Season: Registration is open February 9th-28th. First week of practices April 6th-10th. First week of games April 13th-17th. Last week of games May 11th-15th. 

Fee: $45.00 Fees are waived for all children of parents/guardians who coach a team, please contact us for a voucher code if you intend to coach. 

Scholarships: Scholarships are available for families who need a little help. Please contact us to inquire about scholarships.

Registration:  Registration for both players and coaches is online only.  Please click on the link above to register. Late player registrations are not allowed.

Games: Typically once a week, Monday through Thursday at 6pm. Times/locations/days depend on number of teams.

Practices: Coaches determine the practice schedule and communicate that with players.  

Uniforms & Shin Guards: Players need to have both a green shirt and a white shirt for game days. Jerseys are available from locally-owned Shirts & More here in Lander. Shin guards are required for all players.  Cleats are not required but recommended (no baseball cleats). We do have a small inventory of gear for those in need - please contact us if you are in need.

Fields: Games will be played at the fields north and east of the high school or at Starrett.  An updated field map will be shared by your coach.

Referees:  Many of our referees are middle and high school students.  We ask that you also support these students who are working hard for the program.  They do a great job!

Coaching:  We are always in need of coaches!  Please consider coaching your child’s team as the more coaches we have, the smaller the teams are and kids get more playing time!  No experience necessary and training is available.  Coaches must register online and complete a short background check - Lander Valley Youth Soccer will reimburse you for the cost of the background check.

Board:  Please contact any board member if you are interested in volunteering some time to rec soccer and helping to improve the league.

*Players and parents will be contacted by their coach during the week of March 25th.  Players may not be changed to another team without board approval.*
