How LVH PTA is Organized
LVH PTA is the local (unit-level) Parent Teacher Association serving La Verne Heights Elementary School.
Our unit is part of a larger PTA organization that includes:
LVH PTA (Unit)
Bonita Council PTA
First District PTA
California State PTA (CAPTA)
National PTA
As a chartered California State PTA unit, we operate in accordance with our Unit Bylaws, California State PTA policies, and applicable nonprofit laws and regulations.
Anyone may become a PTA Member by joining and paying annual membership dues. Our Association is made up of all current PTA Members.
The Association is the governing body of the PTA and votes on major business, including:
Electing officers
Adopting and amending bylaws
Approving the annual budget
Approving PTA programs and major plans
Approving contracts and other actions requiring Association approval
LVH PTA holds four Association Meetings each school year.
The Executive Board meets monthly to conduct the ongoing business of the PTA between Association Meetings.
The Executive Board consists of:
Elected Officers
Parliamentarian (appointed by the President)
Standing Committee Chairs
Teacher Representative
School Principal
The Principal and Teacher Representative serve in an advisory role while also participating as voting members of the Executive Board.
Committee Chairs and Coordinators oversee specific PTA programs, events, and activities. They work with committee members and volunteers to carry out approved plans throughout the school year.
PTA relies entirely on volunteers. There are no paid positions within LVH PTA.
We work closely with the Principal and school staff throughout the year to support students and carry out approved PTA programs and activities.
