Common questions
Where are my notes kept? On your phone. Lumen doesn't need an account, and your notes and prayers never go to our servers. Your phone's own backup (such as iCloud Backup) includes them.
How do I move my notes to a new phone? In the app, go to Settings > Backup and tap Export backup. Save the file (to Files, iCloud Drive or email it to yourself). On the new phone, install Lumen, go to Settings > Backup and tap Import backup. This also works between iPhone and Android.
I deleted a note by mistake. Deleted notes go to Settings > Trash, where you can restore them.
How do group studies work? Tap Study together on the Today screen. Start a group to get a six-letter code to share, or enter a code to join. No email or password is needed. Only people in your group see your comments.
Someone posted something hurtful in my group. Tap Report under the comment. You can also hide that person, so you no longer see their comments. Group leaders can remove people from the group.
How do I delete my group study information? Leave the group from the bottom of the group's page. To remove everything linked to your phone, email us and we'll delete it.
How does the study lock work? On iPhone and iPad, when you start study time you can choose apps to block. They unlock when you write your reflection and finish, or any time you tap End session.
Is Lumen free? Yes. Every feature is free, with no ads, and the Bible will always be free. Tips in Settings > Support Lumen are optional and don't unlock anything.
