Before you go to university, there are a few things you will need to get in order:
Use the RDS to get your RCN (Residency Certification Number)
This is how it will be determined whether you will get in-state or out-of-state tuition.
This is a requirement for you to apply to any university, so make sure this is the first thing you get done before starting any applications
Here is the website to fill out the form: https://www.ncresidency.org
You will need to use your CFNC account to log in
Important Note: You can't return to a section of the form once you complete and confirm it, so ensure your information is accurate!!!
To complete the form, you as the student will need your:
CFNC Username
CFNC Password
Social Security Number
Birthdate
Your parents/guardians will need
Full name
Birthdate
SSN or ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number)
Proof of state taxes filed in NC within the last two years
Driver's license/vehicle registration
Voter registration
Proof of employment
