Below is a poem that was written by Jonathan for Lulu by. He read the poem at the burial ground as Lulu was laid to rest
Listen to Mr Jonathan Jones recite a beautiful, thoughtful and amazing poem which he wrote for her and read during her committal at the natural woodland burial ground at Ulley.
Lulu
Though you will weep and grieve her loss
She will be in you still
As first light cracks the morning sky
She is in that pearly glow
When songbirds’ songs take joyful flight
Each note will speak of her
A happy crowd as a try comes true
Is roaring out her name
And as darkness softens the day away
The shade falls from her light
Spring bluebells flush in a darkling wood
Their scent is of her breath
And if lightning flashes with her smile
Then thunder is her laugh
Look up, look up and see the stars
She’s hiding in between
This round Earth turns and oceans toss
And still our hearts she’ll fill
So when you weep and mourn her loss
She will be in you still.
