One of Lulu's favourite songs and artist played prior to her internment
Committal
We have now come to perhaps the most difficult time in the service, when we say farewell to Lulu's physical presence here on Earth.
Lulu
We love you. We miss you
Into the wash of waves and the ocean
Into the freedom of wind and sunshine
Into the dance of the stars and the planets
We let you go
May you feel peace and be wrapped in love.
Thank you, gentleman (Lulu’s coffin lowered into the ground).
You will always inspire us, you will still create beauty,
locked safely within our hearts.
As long as we live, you too will live,
For you are now a part of us.
Farewell our love. Farewell Lulu.
A festival favourite. Played as we left Lu at Ulley
Closing Words
It is nearly time for us to leave this space together and to go back out into the world. It will feel different, be gentle with yourselves as you try to adjust to this new reality. Find comfort with each other. I would like to share this quote from Donna Ashworth with you all.
On those days when you miss someone the most, remember how they loved you.
Remember how they loved you and do that for yourself. In their name, in their honour. Love yourself as they did, they would like that. They would like that very much indeed.
Lulu leaves a huge amount of remembered joy. She spread love, brought laughter, created beauty and she saw the special in people. Our lives are brighter because of her.
As Lulu lives in your hearts, she will never truly leave.
