I applied to the Level 2 Performing Arts course at Gloucestershire College, not necessarily to work toward a career in acting but because it's all I knew. I was hopeless and I had no plans for the future. I had very poor attendance in secondary school, it was uncommon for me to even show up in the later years. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the final-year exams were cancelled and all students were given projected grades, I left school with no passes. the only sense of achievement I took from it was being seen by my drama teacher for my natural ability in acting.
My growing likeness toward acting came to fruition when I joined the Level 2 Performing Arts course at Gloscol. At this point of my life I was extremely anxious, I was shy and struggled to perform anything in front of other people, let alone talk to them. I had ups and downs with my mental health but I pushed myself to do what I know I wanted and finished the course, on the way I found my passion for performance growing, I made real friends and my confidence shot to levels my younger-self couldn't imagine.
I don't have many pictures or videos due to my nervousness and slow approach to the college's curriculum but this year was monumental for my growth and a massive kickstart for my journey in Level 3. I was actually starting to see a future for myself.
