River is a gay, black woman from a modest background. Privileged Paul is a straight, white millennial. They're unlikely best friends but their love of sacred music and a flat-share at college has cemented their friendship. They're now jobbing musicians in unfulfilling roles that pay the rent.  However they're both determined to pursue their real passion of playing cathedral organs. Along with their musician flatmate John, they’re all searching for the perfect job – one which will give them an organ loft to call their own. But then Gemma, a white-wine-drinking, drum & bass playing, fun-loving waitress comes into their lives. When Gemma chooses to date River over love-struck Paul, the bond between the two friends is tested in ways that will change their relationship forever.
