The evening will begin with a live auction of works by leading contemporary artists led by auctioneer Sara Friedlander of Christie's of works by Ann Craven, Sanya Kantarovsky, Oliver Osborne, and Josh Smith. The order of artwork selection for the Draw is determined by a random draw of names called by Lowell Pettit, Master of Ceremonies.

Little did I know, it would be one of the luckiest draws of my life. Having lived in Mass Hall for over a semester, I think it is hands-down the best freshman dorm at Harvard. Why? Here are the reasons.

Mass Hall is known for its history. Having been around for over 300 years, Mass Hall has housed soldiers during the seizure of Boston in the early 19th Century and served as a lecture space and dormitory for Harvard College. Today, Mass Hall serves as an administration space and, of course, a dormitory for 14 lucky freshmen.

Shini, our every smiling and caring host wrote my name on a card and added the same to the pile of entries for the lucky draw. The name was drawn, turning a potential moment of disappointment into a celebration. The reward wasn't just a prize; it was a testament to the power of resilience in the face of unforeseen challenges.

In the aftermath of the lucky draw victory, the lessons learned were deeply personal. It wasn't about sharing wisdom with others; it was about an internal dialogue with resilience and perseverance. The missing pen became a metaphor, symbolizing the unpredictability of life, and my response, a reflection of navigating uncertainties.
