LUCKNOW & LOVEJOY is a Venture Design Studio, engaged in the discipline of Human Centered Design. Internally we are creating a design portfolio of business concepts, and the possibility of successful profitability and ongoing operations for them. We are creating an ecosystem platform on which to start, manage, and grow the portfolio, with integrated distributed teams and toolsets. Some tools are common to every portfolio business, and others are unique to a particular business needs. We intend to make it possible for teams to operate ongoing, stand alone, business ventures that serve a defined Purpose.

Externally we offer similar services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and governing institutions, at various levels of social organization.

OUR NAME

As human migrations and cultures have migrated Eastward and Westward throughout the centuries, they ultimately converged, in large part, in the Americas, and continue to integrate around the world. We are inspired by this integration, and the unity of East & West.

We take our name from Lucknow, a multi-culturaly integrated city and region in Uttar Pradesh, India, where its residents are widely know for their polite and courtly speech and manner. We believe this manner-of-being is essential to creating products, services, systems, and human relationships that work. The name Lucknow itself, implies great independent meaning, of course, and as Louis Pasteur is known to have observed: " Chance favours the prepared mind."

Lovejoy is an iconic name in Portland, Oregon, our city of origin, and represents as well a high ideal, and an evolutionary concept in the ongoing development of Western civilization and culture, as a way to be with ourselves, and as a way to be with others.

We embrace Lucknow and Lovejoy, in their symbolism, implications, and meanings, as aspirational concepts to integrate into everything we do. As such, we seek to integrate a human nobility into our work, for all humans, based on character and actions, as we integrate our lives and our world, East & West, North & South, for a world that works, for everyone.
