The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Rehearses June 15 - June 27 via Zoom*) chronicles the adventures of a young farm girl named Dorothy in the magical Land of OZ after she and her pet dog Toto are swept away from their Kansas home by a cyclone. The book is one of the best-known stories in American literature and the Library of Congress has declared it "America's greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale." This new stage adaptation will kick off Phase 2 of Luckenbooth’s three phase reopening plan and will be filled with all your favorite characters from Oz. Please note that this is not the musical! This new stage adaptation celebrates the original author’s work by keeping as close to his original story as possible.

His imaginative storytelling and tales of mystery and horror gave birth to the modern detective story. Some aspects of Poe’s life, like his literature, is shrouded in mystery, and the lines between fact and fiction have been blurred substantially since his death. This new stage adaptation aims to address the most popular questions about Poe himself while celebrating his most beloved tales.

Grimm's Fairy Tales (Rehearses July 13 - July 25 via Zoom): Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm documented hundreds of folktales from all over Europe. They were linguists, scholars, and researchers of German language and mythology, yet they lived most of their lives as underpaid academics - and likely never realized their work would someday reach world fame. They left an astounding legacy! While fairy tales like "Rapunzel" and "Snow White" may be familiar, the stories behind the tales may not be. This new stage adaptation will reveal the unknown truths of your favorite fairy tales and may just teach you a thing or two.

"Is it safer to brave the outside or be trapped in your own home?"

These Windows Talk takes place in a near future that is something different than the world we experience. The play follows two siblings and their life under the rule of the three maternals: Mother, Mom, and Mommy. In this strange world, there is singing, dancing, broken windows, and revised histories. The play calls for at least 4 female-identifying cast members with the siblings' genders being optional. No ethnicity is required, and a diverse cast is encouraged to add to the "created" nature of the two siblings. The siblings should look similar in age, and the three maternals must all be mid 20's through late 50's with Mommy being the youngest and Mother being the oldest. Actors will have a large amount of input towards their own characterization and the world they live in.

AVAILABLE ROLES

ASKS - One of the twins, haunted by nightmares. Submissive and anxious

EMBY - The other twin, calm, collected, extremely intelligent

MOMMY (F) - The youngest of the maternals. Kind and understanding

MOTHER (F) - Oldest of maternals. Strict and fearful of the outside

MOM (F) - The middle of the maternals. A good mix between Mommy and Mother.

VERA (F) - A stranger
