I am a PhD researcher in automated driving at Delft University of Technology, working in the Automated Driving and Simulation (ADaS) lab and the Centre for Meaningful Human Control.
My research focuses on reason-responsive decision-making in automated vehicles. I develop computational frameworks that ensure autonomous systems do not only optimise performance, but also align their behaviour with relevant human reasons, such as safety, legal norms, and responsibility.
This work addresses a key limitation in current AI-driven systems: decisions are often optimised for predefined objectives without explicitly representing the human considerations they are expected to follow. My approach integrates control theory, simulation, and AI to evaluate whether automated vehicle behaviour remains accountable and interpretable in complex, real-world scenarios.
