Hi, my name is Luca Martinelli (he/him). I am a 19-year-old, who has lived in Vancouver, B.C. my whole life. Living in Canada has provided me with many opportunities, such as access to post-secondary education and high-performance sports. In my professional career, I aspire to become a residential realtor. Becoming a realtor is a professional goal of mine because I want to help people find their dream homes while giving my opinion and advice on how to transform a space and build a life within it. I have been working towards achieving this goal by attending Capilano University, and I have the goal of one day graduating from The University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Business in Real Estate. Secondly, I have been shadowing a realtor, who has begun teaching me how the industry is run. I have sat in on open houses, as well as closing and possession days. These opportunities have reaffirmed my professional passion.
Alongside my professional passions, I have a passion for high-performance soccer. I began playing soccer at a young age, and have since loved the sport. I have played on many competitive teams such as HPL, Whitecaps, and currently Capilano University. I have won many provincial championships, as well as achieved personal awards such as The Most Valuable Player and captain. I enjoy playing soccer because of its high-intensity pace and the opportunity to build life-long friendships. Being the captain of my team, placed me into the leadership role. I learnt how to support my teammates through injuries and losses, I learned to lead the team when we felt discouraged and upset, and I showed each of my teammates' respect, accepting and loving them for their uniqueness.
Studying to become a real estate agent and training to be the best soccer player I can be, has taught me many lessons and skills. I have learnt the importance and value of hard work, respect, and dedication. I am thankful for all my experiences, as they are propelling me forward into my future aspirations.
