Area of interest: Organic synthesis and supramolecular functional materials.
Calix[4]pyrroles (C4Ps) are gaining popularity as a new-generation host molecule in the field of supramolecular chemistry due to their distinctive conformations, structural diversity, and useful molecular recognition properties. The moieties such as C4Ps, crown ether, calixarenes, urea, and square amide-based derivatives were functionalized with other systems or with one another, thereby producing potential strapped ion-pair receptors that have displayed promising results in various aspects. Therefore, we are aiming to functionalize C4Ps with strapped linkers to develop a series of strapped calix[4]pyrrole-based ion-pair receptors and evaluate their binding affinity and ion-pair transport properties.
