The Lubbock County Law Library is a research facility that provides access to legal resources for the legal community and citizens of Lubbock County. Please be advised that the librarian cannot interpret legal materials or provide legal advice to law library patrons.

USE OF THE FACILITY

Upon entry, patrons are asked to sign-in with name and time of entry. Data  from sign-in sheets is used to report to the Lubbock County Commissioners' Court how often the library facility and its resources are used. 

Please silence cell phones upon entry and place/answer phone calls in the library hallway to ensure all patrons have a quiet research atmosphere.

Please consume food  before entering. Beverages in covered, spill-proof containers are permitted.

CHECK OUT POLICY

The Lubbock County Law Library does not check out print library materials and resources. All print resources must be used while in the library.  



COMPUTERS and INTERNET ACCESS

 We have two computer workstations for patron use.  The purpose of these computers is conducting legal research and printing pro se forms.  One computer is set up to access LexisNexis Database exclusively.  Printing from this workstation costs $0.10 per page (cash only). 

 The other computer is set up to access the following four sites:  TexasLawHelp.org, Texas Young Lawyers Association,  Official Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, and the Texas Judicial Branch. Printing legal forms from this computer is free, courtesy of the Lubbock Area Bar Association; printing email or any other legal information costs $0.10 per page.  Free printing of forms in the future is subject to change at the discretion of the Lubbock Area Bar Association.  Any info printed for patrons from the librarian's circulation desk printer are $0.10 per page (cash only). 

SELF-SERVICE PHOTOCOPIER

All patrons may make copies using our self-serve photocopierAdvanced Business Solutions provides the copier for county use and charges $0.10 per page (new rates to be announced for 2024).  For our frequent-copier-patrons and attorneys, copy cards are available for purchase in the amounts of $15, $20, or $50. (cash or check only, please)
