2023 Fort Collins to Edmonton

Fort Collins, Colorado, to Edmunton, Alberta, Canada. 1312 miles in 12 days with 21,300 feet of elevation gain along the flattest route I could find. I’ve given up trying to figure out why I go on these rides, but every year I feel increasingly grateful for the opportunity to do them at all, that at 47 years old my body can still adjust to eight to ten hours in the saddle every day, that motorists are courteous and give me plenty of room on the highway, and that I (almost) always seem to get a tailwind when I really need one. Most of all, I’m appreciative of everything I have to come home to at the end of these treks.
