Our Mission 

Our mission is to provide young children with enjoyable language learning experiences that encompass linguistic fun, cultural exploration, and outdoor sports, all while emphasizing a balance of academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and physical well-being. Through immersive activities, real-life situations, and outdoor adventures, we aim to equip them with practical language skills while inspiring a lifelong love for learning and fostering global citizenship.

The co-founders

Join Lin Laoshi (Teacher Lin) and Tan Laoshi (Teacher Tan), the most experienced team of Chinese instruction in the Treasure Valley, to an exciting Chinese linguistic and cultural journey!

Meichun Lin and Changyan Tan met in Boise in 2015 and have since forged a strong friendship rooted in their shared passion for language education. With over 30 years of combined teaching experience, they are excited to pool their expertise to guide your Chinese learning adventure.

The team firmly believes that language acquisition, particularly at a young age, should be engaging, interactive, and relevant to real-life experiences that ignites a lifelong passion for learning. They also believe in nurturing children's holistic development, emphasizing a balance of academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and physical well-being. Envision their classrooms as vibrant spaces where students engaging in linguistic and cultural explorations, interwoven with dynamic kinesthetic experiences, fostering comprehensive growth and joyful discovery.

 To meet Meichun Lin:

- Over 10 years of dedicated teaching experience 

-  Certified educator in both English and Chinese in Idaho and China

-  Holds certifications as an IB PYP, MYP, and DP Chinese teacher

-  Recognized as a STARTALK Core Instructor in 2023

-  Honored as a Rotary Distinguished Educator in Boise in 2021

-  Currently serves as the Vice President of the Idaho Association of Teachers of Language and Culture

-  Active member of the Educator Advisory Council of the Idaho State Historical Society

-  Organizes the IB DP Chinese B Teacher Group in North America

-  Organizes the Boise Chinese Corner, a language club since 2021 

-  Serves on the board of the Idaho Chinese Organization

- Active member of Boise Traditional Chinese Dance Group

-  Hosts the Chinese podcast "Mandarin Magic with Lin Laoshi" on Spotify

-  Holds certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Wilderness First Response etc.

To meet Changyan Tan:

-  Over 20 years of experience of teaching both Chinese and English

-  Extensive leadership experience in various summer programs

-  Founder of Elan English Center in China

- Participated in numerous Chinese Language Teaching Seminars and Symposiums by the British Council and Chinese

  Hanban, enhancing teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and classroom management skills.
