Short Biography - Dr. Chan Kim
Dr. Chan Kim is a physician-scientist in medical oncology. After graduating from Yonsei University College of Medicine with an M.D. degree in 2005, he worked as a resident of internal medicine at Yonsei University Severance Hospital for 4 years, and entered Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering at KAIST in 2010. At KAIST, he conducted his Ph.D. dissertation investigating the molecular mechanisms governing tumor angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis. After completing his Ph.D. program, he conducted a clinical fellowship in medical oncology at Yonsei University (2014-2015) and became an assistant professor in medical oncology at CHA University School of Medicine in 2015. He is currently a physician-scientist who try to develop novel immunotherapeutic strategies that can lead to an immunological “boiling point” in which a cold, non-inflamed tumor is sufficiently inflamed to enable the host immune system to eradicate tumor cells.
