The Learning Tree 4K program is offered September through May and is held Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:15 am. In order to qualify for the 4K program, students must be 4 years old by September 1st.
Our 4K program is conducted in partnership with the Portage Community School District and is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Our partnership with the Portage Community School District ensures your child will receive the same expectations and advantages as the children in the other 4K programs in Portage.
While the most structured of our programs we offer at Learning Tree, our 4K program encourages curiosity, exploration, and discoveries that will foster your child’s problem solving, responsive listening, mathematical and literacy development as well as social skills needed to thrive in Kindergarten.
Our 4K program provides a balance of academic preparation and nurturing support. We understand that four-year-olds are still little and they learn best through encouragement, routine, and meaningful play.
Through guided lessons and hands-on experiences, children develop foundational skills while building friendships and self-confidence. This practice correlates with our belief that children thrive when they feel safe, capable, and supported.
Our 4K program prepares children for a confident transition to kindergarten. We focus on academic foundations while strengthening social and emotional skills.
Children benefit from predictable routines that help them feel secure.
