In the Spring of 2006, 18 driven ladies embarked on a journey to become part of the original, most elite sisterhood in the entire nation. United by a vision, they sought to bring an organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering the Latina woman to Stony Brook University. On April 2nd, 2006, that vision was realized and the Delta Zeta Chapter was founded by the 18 Dominant Forces. Since then, the chapter has welcomed 17 lines, and now 20 years later in 2026, we proudly celebrate a legacy of 100 sisters.
Our purpose is rooted in building strong, educated women, leaders not only of today, but of generations to come. We proudly honor the legacy of our sisters who have paved the way as state representatives, lawyers, businesswomen, doctors, mothers, and change makers in their communities. Each sister within our chapter is unique, bringing her own background, culture, and experiences. While we come from different ethnicities and walks of life, these differences become our greatest strengths when we work together. By learning from one another, we empower each other to reach our highest potential.
