Schedule and Location: Confirm the time and place of the meet before you go. High school sports schedules may change, so make sure you have the latest information.

Meets usually start at 4:00 p.m., and players should arrive by 3:45 p.m.

Coaches will excuse players from school. For in-town meets, players are responsible for their own transportation. For out-of-town meets, LPS will provide transportation. Players must ride with the team!

Meets involve playing 1-6 singles matches and 1-3 doubles matches. (Var will play a few different formats.)

Coaches decide the lineup for each meet. Not all players will participate in every meet. Coaches will try to announce the lineup the day before.

Coaches are the only ones who can talk to our players during the match. Players have 20 seconds between points and 60 seconds on side switches.

You may want to bring a chair, as most venues have limited seating.

Cheer Respectfully: Support your player and their team, but be respectful and avoid distracting the players. Clapping and positive encouragement are great, but yelling during points can interfere with the game.

Know the Rules: Learning the basic rules of tennis can make the game more enjoyable and help you follow the action. Learn about scoring, sets, and basic game mechanics. USTA Tennis Rules

Be Supportive: Whether they win or lose, your player will appreciate your support. Focus on their effort, sportsmanship, and improvement rather than just the result of the match.

Players need to bring their own water bottle! Booster reps will organize a team snack list for most tennis events.
