Symposium on Research Frontiers in Surface Catalysis

hosted and organized by LSAC at UC, Berkeley

The technical program will consist of three technical sessions (TS) spread across Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. In these sessions, we will discuss and explore the boundaries of various scientific problems that have yet to be solved in surface catalysis.

Please plan to arrive on Friday by 1pm. The first two sessions will occur on Friday afternoon (TS1: 1:30 PM and TS2: 4 PM) with a coffee break in between. Friday night, we will split up into smaller groups for dinner at 6:30 PM (no-host); you will select ahead of time from a list of local (walkable) restaurants and breweries to ensure appropriate mixing. Following dinner, we will meet up a designated bar for a night cap!

On Saturday, we will have breakfast available starting at 7:45 AM, followed by a morning session (TS3: 8:15 AM). We will depart at 12 PM for a hike in the surrounding region; transportation and a boxed lunch will be provided. If you choose not to hike, you can pick a local spot for lunch on your own and decide among a few other options for small group excursions in the surrounding area. On Saturday evening, we will host a formal group reunion farm-to-table dinner and celebration at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens to commemorate the event. Transportation will be provided for those staying at the hotels. After dinner, we will cater drinks in the hotel lobby bar to keep the good times going!

There will be no official events Sunday, but activities will be suggested based on travel plans. The discounted hotel rates extend to Sunday evening (and Thursday if you’d like to come early!).

Details on potential group travel options from ACS San Francisco to Santa Rosa will be provided at a later date.
