About

Laudato Si' Circle South Philly is...

...part of the larger, global Laudato Si' Movement.

Originally the Global Catholic Climate Movement, the Laudato Si' Movement works to enact the principles and virtues of Pope Francis's encyclical Laudato Si'. Laudato Si' Circles are local groups that work toward taking actions in their home communities; the Circles draw support and resources from the Laudato Si' Movement.

...based in prayer.

Laudato Si' Circle South Philly is a group of people who meet to pray with and for creation. Prayers include silent contemplation, scripture reflection, rosary for the climate, the Canticle of Creation chaplet, and nature walks. In our practice, prayer is meant to lead to action.

...made up of just normal folks looking for a way to make a positive impact in our city.

No special experience needed! Our group is made up of folks from all walks of life, who speak different languages, have different life experiences -- but we share one common goal: to live Laudato Si' in our own lives and to help support who are similarly oriented. We hope you will consider joining one of our next Nature Walks!

...brand new!

Laudato Si' Circle South Philly has just convened and will hold its first meeting in October 2021. What that means is that we are still forming, and we need support of folks interested in participating to take prayerful action toward a more sustainable future.
