Workshop on Low-Rank Models and Applications
LRMA 25

Welcome to the website of the 2025 Workshop on Low-Rank Models and Applications (LRMA 25) that will take place 11-12 September 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Mons, Belgium. The LRMA workshop is sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) under the eLinoR project. You can download the call of papers here

LRMA25 will offer a vibrant and intimate venue for interaction between researchers from fields such as numerical analysis, computer science, information theory, mathematics, and signal processing. The scientific program of the LRMA workshop will include 8 invited plenary lectures, as well as regular contributed talks and posters.

LRMA25 follows LRMA 19, LRMA22, and is the third workshop in this series.

When and where?

The workshop will take place in Mons, Belgium, the 11th and 12th of September 2025. Mons is a small city in the French-speaking part of Belgium. It is accessible by train from Brussels within one hour (two trains per hour from Brussels center, one direct train per hour from the Brussels airport).

What?

The workshop focuses on the use of low-rank models in signal processing, data mining and machine learning. This includes but is not restricted to all aspects of low-rank matrix/tensor approximations, such as nonnegative matrix factorization, (subspace) clustering, independent component analysis, low-rank matrix completion, sparse component analysis, dictionary learning, tensor decompositions, etc. The workshop is also interested in optimization algorithms that are central to compute such decompositions. Many aspects of this class of problems will be discussed including theory (complexity, identifiability, etc.), algorithms, and applications.
