Join the 42nd
Ready to Join CAP?
Here’s how to get started!
Step 1. Visit our squadron
Cadets meet every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Senior members meet every second and fourth Tuesday, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
While you may be ready to sign up the first night, we ask that you attend three CAP meetings before making a decision. You’ll have a chance to see how our meetings are run and what types of activities are available – ask questions and experience the culture of the 42nd Composite Squadron!
Step 2. Membership Application
Cadets, after your 3rd meeting night please fill out the Online Cadet Application. You will need to schedule a meeting on the 4th meeting night with our Deputy Commander of Cadets to set down and discuss the Cadet Program with you and your parents. This is a time to ask and answer any questions, go over your application and if all are in agreement and ready to move forward approve your application in the system.
Adults we’ll provide you with a senior membership application and a fingerprint card, or you can download the Senior Member Application.
When you turn in your application, we’ll need a way for us to prove your identity, such as a U.S. Passport, Social Security card, driver’s license, certified copy of birth certificate, or a permanent resident card (I-551).
For adults, the fingerprint card can be processed at the following location (you’ll keep the card once you’ve been fingerprinted):
Arkansas State Police
One State Police Plaza Drive
Little Rock, AR 72209
You’ll bring the fingerprinted card back with you and turn it in with your CAP application. A check or cash for $35.00 is needed for CAP national dues and $18.00 for local squadron dues (these dues are annual). Checks can be made out to Civil Air Patrol.
Once we’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive a new member e-mail and a newly minted CAP ID – this typically takes 1 – 2 weeks. Once you receive your CAP ID, check out our resources for new members!
Welcome aboard – we’re glad you’re part of our team!
