Info for Participants

Lunch is open to all registered participants (Parthanil will ask questions about the lectures before letting you into the lunch place). Those staying in CVH may take breakfast and dinner at the CVH itself. Those at Hotel champion inn have breakfast in the hotel, and may go to CVH for dinner. But if you do not intend to take a particular meal, please let them know in advance so that there is no wastage of food (it is also paid for by the meal).

Venue of the lectures

The lectures will be held in lecture hall MP-20 of the ECE department of IISc campus. Note that the lecture hallis inside the Microelectronics and Photonics building (which is behind the main building of ECE visible from the road). On the first two days, lunch is on the terrace of the Mathematics department. The two are 15-20 minutes walk apart. Electric autos (transvahan) run through many routes on campus and anyone can hop on for free (but they are often full).

Getting to the campus

Hotel Champion inn is close to the D-gate of the IISc campus, from which the ECE department is another 5 minutes walk. CVH is on IISc campus, and 1 minute walk from a gate (only for pedestrians). From here to ECE department, either walk or take a transvahan. Whenever you need to ask for directions to IISc (e.g., if you catch an auto or bus), remember that it is locally called Tata institute.

Other places on and near campus

Restaurant Nesara, Sarvam food complex, Food truck (next to the campus book house), Vayu vihara are places on campus for eating. Lots of restaurants are in the vicinity of Ramaiah hospital (get out of CVH gate). If you love plants so much that you won't eat them, many relatively cheap restaurants are in Mathikere. Herbivores will find better grazing grounds on Malleshwaram side.

If you eat in all these places, know where the Health center is (participants' names have been given).

If you neither want to eat not do the exercises the lecturers give, you may loiter near the IISc main building or visit the Campus book house where one can buy many books and feel guilty about not reading them. Sankey tank is nice to walk around in the evening, as are many other places you won't get to visit because we have lectures till 6pm.
