Please join us for our Instrument Petting Zoo! At this event you will receive information about 5th Grade Band, meet Miss Tetlow and other LPS music staff, and learn about rental options. Most importantly students will be able to try out the 6 instrument options (Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Bell Kit) to help decide what they will play. Gerry's Music Shop will be in attendance to supply trial instruments, assist students in making first sounds on the instruments, and offer rental options.
Gallup Hill School will host their instrument night on Wednesday September 10th, 2025.
Gales Ferry Juliet W. Long will host their instrument night on Friday September 12th, 2025.

To enroll your student in 5th Grade Band, please fill out this google form. Please use a primary email that you check regularly, as updates on weekly schedules, concerts, and general information will be sent to the email on the form.

Students are graded on three criteria: Technical ability, Expression, and Real World Connections
Technical ability- graded through monthly playing tests and end of year concert
Expression- graded through listening responses and end of year concert
Connections- graded through monthly practice logs, listening responses, and end of year concert
