The Marina is one of our favorite places to hike on warm summer evenings. Lake Michigan helps keep everyone cool and gives us a great view while we're walking. There are always a lot of people and dogs around, making for tons of great experiences for our dogs.

Prairie Springs Park features a 2.3-mile paved walking and jogging trail that's excellent for dog walks. There are plenty of joggers, bikers and rollerbladers for us to practice our good manners.
On hot summer days the dogs can wade in the water to cool off or take a dip in the dog swimming area.

The walk from Pennoyer Park down to Simmons Island and back is another one of our favorite hikes in the summer. One of the highlights of this hike is the drinking fountain that has a regular fountain for people and a short one for dogs!

Pets is a our go-to place to hike. There's a little bit of everything here. There are parks with playground equipment, rocks and logs to jump up on and pose for pictures, there's a river to wade in, a steep hill to get your heart rate up (and warm you up on a cold day), and best of all, there are plenty of trees to block the wind in the winter. In the summer there are always a lot of dogs and people so we get good practice being good canine citizens.
We usually walk on the paved path, but we occasionally go across the street to Parkside's Cross Country Course for some trail hiking.

Pine Dunes features rolling hills and beautiful panoramic views of prairie, savanna and oak-hickory woodlands. The path is gravel with three boardwalks. There's a drinking fountain and toilet by the parking area.
We started going there in 2016 just after it opened and it was still just a baby park. It's growing up and gets better every year!
The best part are the snacks the horses leave for us! - Branson

We usually walk the gravel path around Sterling Lake but we occasionally take one of the paths through the woods.
One time we went on the wooded path and my mom forgot the handlebars for my buggy so she had to push me in the buggy using a stick! It was pretty funny! -Casey
