Academic coaching is for the student . . .
First and foremost, I fully believe that all students CAN learn! I feel that is a basic premise that often gets overlooked in students who are struggling. Next it is important to figure out HOW a student can learn best and find ways to incorporate that into their formal studies. During this step, it is vital for parents and teachers alike to understand that what works for one learner, doesn't always work for another. For some students, a little academic coaching is needed to get them on the right track. These coaching sessions may include but are not limited to some of the following focuses:
organization of work material
organization of knowledge
work habits
planning strategies
studying techniques
fine tuning executive functioning processes
teacher communication strategies and planning
Once students learn to use the strategies that are most helpful to them, they will experience not only improved academics, but an improved self-image!
While our focus will not be strictly on academic content, some academic content will be addressed while working on the various strategies to help improve their learning. Students will need to have their study/homework materials for each session.
Academic Coaching Cost:
$50 per session, billed monthly

💻🙋Virtual and in-person sessions are offered.
🕜Sessions will be conducted weekly with 50 minute student/coach work session and 5-10 minute parent/student/coach consult at the rate of $50 per session. The weekly consult time can be handled after the session, schedule permitting, or via phone or email at a later time.
💲Sessions will be billed monthly, due by the first session of the month, and will take into account any holidays. A yearly calendar will be made available with a signed contract per each academic semester.
❌Cancellations by client must be made 24 hours in advance. Payments for the cancelled session with 24 hour notice will roll over to the following month. Cancellations by client made with less than 24 hour notice will incur a 50% fee, rolling 50% over to the following month.
*🗓️There may be times that circumstantial rescheduling may be necessary. In that event, the parent and coach will work this out on a case by case basis.
