Cara Caudill (email) is in her 13th year of teaching. She loves sharing her passion for education with students, teachers, and community members. Cara became a fellow of LWP in 2015 and remained active in the project through its transition to Bellarmine University. Cara directs the Invitational Summer Institute where she shares her love for writing across the curriculum, building on student strengths, and best practices for teaching.
Elizabeth Dinkins, Ph.D. (email) is Dean of the School of Education & Associate Professor of Literacy Education at Bellarmine University. Before beginning her career in higher education, Elizabeth taught middle school language arts and coordinated school-wide literacy instruction. She facilitated the transition to Bellarmine and continues to play a pivotal role in the success of LWP!
Winn Wheeler, Ph. D. (email) is an Assistant Professor of Literacy at Bellarmine University. Prior to her work at Bellarmine, Winn worked in public education for twenty years where she served as a classroom teacher and literacy coach. At Bellarmine, Winn teaches literacy courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Winn has been an active fellow of the writing project for many years. Her love for the Louisville Writing Project is central to its existence today.
Patti Slagle is the Co-Director who oversees the fall and winter mini-conferences. She conducts teacher professional development throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana for the Louisville Writing Project and the Kentucky Writing Project. Her teacher training focuses on the Writing and Language Standards of the Common Core Standards, specifically addressing instruction in process writing and research-based grammar for writing. She also teaches Methods of Teaching Grammar at the University of Louisville. This graduate-level course is built around research and strategies she employs in her grammar-for-writing professional development workshops for teachers.
Abigail Walsh works at Bellarmine University as the Director of the Office of Continuing Education. She coordinates programs for Louisville Writing, takes bookings, and runs all of the behind-the-scenes work that makes our programming run.
