The Louisiana School Supervisors' Association (LSSA) was established in 1997 by a group of statewide supervisors.

The objectives of the Association shall be:

  • (1) to secure the advancement of public education through the improvement of classroom instruction,

  • (2) to place before the public the needs and problems of elementary and secondary education for the purpose of securing an intelligent appreciation of the work of the schools,

  • (3) to promote the general welfare of the pupils and the teachers,

  • (4) to emphasize the rights of individuals to the best opportunities which society is capable of offering, and

  • (5) to promote unity and cooperation among its members.

membership

There are two types of membership in this Association, namely active and retired.

  • Active Members shall consist of all Louisiana School Supervisors whose primary responsibility is the supervision or support of instruction within the state of Louisiana.

  • Retired Members shall consist of retired school personnel and related educational personnel, who in the course of their primary duties or concerns are interested in the supervision or support of instruction within the state of Louisiana.

Registration to attend the annual conference is an all inclusive fee which includes attendance to the conference and membership to the Association
