For private pilot training, I try to nudge clients into tailwheel aircraft, such as Citabrias. I think tailwheel aircraft build better awareness of stick and rudder skills and discipline, and eliminate the distraction of complex instrument panels and systems.
For instrument training, I prefer Cessna or Cirrus aircraft with G1000 or other glass panel avionics, since this is the future of instrument flight. An advantage to using G1000 is that a lot of the training can be conducted in G1000 simulators, at low cost.
CSIP (Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot)
I am a Cirrus-trained CSIP. I can provide primary or instrument instruction in all Cirrus aircraft, either privately owned or at West Valley Flying Club.
