Peter Kao has been active in the Milwaukee theater community since 2008.
He previously served on the Board of Directors at Waukesha Civic Theatre from 2017-2023.

As an actor, some of his favorite roles include Mr. Shellhammer in Miracle on 34th Street; Tim in Noises Off; Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone; Mr. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical; Mr. Mayor in Seussical; and Evelyn Oakleigh in Anything Goes.

Peter has directed several shows including Sex Please, We're Sixty; The Language Archive; and The Humans.

As a playwright, Peter has written two one-act short plays that have been performed in the area: Rumplestiltskin: A Day in Court and From Dusk 'til Dawn.
