Ticket prices vary depending on the production, venue, and event style, but will be between $10-$15. One of Loonlight Theatre’s goals is to keep performances affordable and accessible while still supporting artists and local collaborators. We also keep our ticket prices low to encourage audiences to support the local businesses we partner with at each venue.
Tickets will typically be available online in advance, with purchase links shared through our website and social media pages once sales open. Some productions may also offer limited tickets at the door, depending on venue capacity.

Performance locations vary depending on the production. Current productions may take place outdoors, inside local businesses, or in nontraditional performance spaces throughout the area.
Parking availability depends on the venue location. Whenever possible, parking information and accessibility details will be included with ticketing and event announcements.
Some venues may provide limited seating, while others may encourage audience members to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Specific seating information will always be included with event details before performances.
We do perform in light rain. But because many productions are outdoors, weather plans may vary depending on the event. Updates regarding delays, cancellations, or alternate plans will be communicated through social media and email whenever possible.
This depends on the production. Some shows may contain mature themes, language, or staged intimacy. Age recommendations and content notes will be provided whenever possible. We leave it up to the family to know what's best for their child
Site-specific theatre is a type of performance created for a particular location outside of a traditional theatre. Instead of using a standard stage, the production is designed around the unique features, atmosphere, and layout of a real space. Site-specific theatre can happen almost anywhere, including restaurants, cafés, parks, homes, warehouses, galleries, libraries, or other community spaces.
The location becomes part of the world of the play.
We believe theatre becomes especially exciting when it surprises people. Performing in unexpected locations allows audiences to experience stories in new, intimate, and memorable ways while strengthening connections with the surrounding community. We want to blur the line between audience, performer, and environment.
Each venue brings its own creative possibilities and challenges!
You can expect a performance that feels close, personal, and connected to its surroundings. Depending on the production, you may sit near the actors, eat and drink during the show, move through a space, or experience the story from a less traditional viewpoint than in a standard theatre.
We try to design shows to feel welcoming and accessible!
Not at all! Loonlight Theatre welcomes performers and collaborators of all experience levels. Whether you’ve been doing theatre for years or are trying it for the first time, we encourage you to get involved!
Most acting and production positions are currently volunteer/unpaid as part of our community-based theatre model. Limited stipends may be available for select leadership positions, depending on responsibilities and available funding.
Wonderful! We’re always looking for help behind the scenes. We are currently seeking stage management, run crew, musicians, front-of-house support, and other production assistance. More info can be found on the about page

"Loonlight Theatre" takes its name from the loon, a bird commonly found throughout Michigan, known for its haunting call, sense of wonder, and connection to the wilderness. Like moonlight, “loonlight” evokes something atmospheric, intimate, and a little unexpected. The name reflects our goal of creating theatre that feels immersive, unconventional, and alive in unique spaces outside of a traditional stage, where audiences and performers can connect more closely.
