Auditions

Auditions are June 8th anytime between 5-8pm OR Tapes are DUE  Monday June 8th by MIDNIGHT

Audition Location: MoonWinks Cafe & Tavern  (5151 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105)

Actors auditioning should prepare a short comedic monologue of their choice. Around 1–2 minutes is perfect. Those attending in-person auditions may also be asked to participate in cold readings from the script.

Auditions are open to performers ages 15 and older. All experience levels are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or trying theatre for the first time, we encourage you to audition.

Rehearsals will primarily take place outdoors at Island Park in Ann Arbor and are designed to be flexible with advance notice of conflicts. However, actors must be available during the week leading up to performances for dress rehearsals and full runs.

This production is unpaid and community-driven, created with a focus on collaboration, creativity, and building exciting theatrical experiences in unique spaces.

Loonlight Theatre is built on collaboration and community involvement. Whether you have years of experience or simply want to get involved and learn, we’d love to hear from you. 

Many crew responsibilities will primarily take place during rehearsals and performance week, with some flexibility depending on the position.

*Most production and performance roles are currently volunteer/unpaid as part of our community-based theatre model. Limited stipends may be available for select leadership positions such as Stage Management and Costumer, though compensation is modest.

Loonlight Theatre is currently seeking musicians and small musical groups interested in collaborating on our outdoor summer production of Lady Windermere’s Fan.

We are looking for music that feels elegant, lively, romantic, and slightly playful — think garden parties, waltzes, dance music, The vibe we’re hoping for is something elegant and lively; waltzes, danceable pieces, and music that feels a little high-brow but still genuinely fun and welcoming rather than strictly formal classical music. I'm very open to any style of music we can agree on.

Musicians may perform pre-show music, transitional pieces throughout the production, and help create the immersive environment of the event itself. 

The production is an outdoor performance with an audience of around 50 people nightly. 

Because this production takes place outdoors at Dixboro Village Green, we are especially interested in performers who enjoy intimate, community-centered events and creative collaboration. While this is an unpaid opportunity, we would absolutely love to promote your group through our social media, printed programs, and event announcements throughout the run to get more public attention for you/your group.

Thursday, August 6 at 7 PM

Friday, August 7 at 7:30 PM

Saturday, August 8 at 7:30 PM

Sunday, August 9 at 3 PM

Call times would be approximately:

Thursday: 5:30 PM

Friday/Saturday: 6:30 PM

Sunday: 1:30 PM

It would also be great if you were able to attend at least two rehearsals leading up to the performances so we could coordinate timing and transitions together. Rehearsals are typically held on Sundays from 5–9 PM and Mondays/Wednesdays/Thursdays from 6–9 PM outside at Island Park.
