Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Tweety and Porky Pig loved the time of year when the sun began to rise a little earlier, stay a little longer, and fall a little later. They all loved this time of year because they knew that Spring was arriving and Summer would not be far behind. The gang was all too thrilled to get rid of the cold days and being stuck inside all day long.
Today was the first day that the water down at the spring would finally be warm enough to go for a swim. Everyone was ecstatic and could not wait to get down to the spring and beat the rush of people who would join them in the afternoon. For if you were too late, you would not be able to find a good spot to lay out your towels and belongings.
As they prepared for their day and pack their bags, Daffy Duck began to talk. He asked the group, "Have you guys heard what Sylvester was telling people lasth night at tha movies?"
The rest of the gang thought that Daffy Duck was just talking like he always does and wanted to start drama, but they were all eager to hear what he had to say, so Bugs Bunny replied, "No, what did he say?"
"Well, you are not going to believe me. But he was telling us that you, Porky Pig, were being cruel to him and that you said you were not our friend but that you hang out with us so that you can report back to Tasmanian Devil on what we are doing."
Instantly they looked to Porky Pig for an explanation. Poor Porky was left to defend himself because the rest of the gang had not been at the movies and Sylvester was conveniently stuck at home with a stomachache.
He was dumbfounded and had no idea why Sylvester would say such a thing. "I, I, I would never say that about you guys. Yo, yu, you are my best friends! How could you tha, think I would do such a thing? Me and Tasmanian Devil are not even acquaintances, let alone friends. He, he, he is always antagonizing me."
The rest of the group felt somewhat bad for even thinking such a thing about their friend.
Tweety was the first to speak up, "I believe you, Porky Pig. You would never talk about us behind our back to Tasmanian Devil."
"Thanks, Tweety," Porky Pig replied solemnly. "I, I, I hope the rest of you guys believe me too. I ju, ju, just want to head down to the spring and forget about Tasmanian Devil altogether."
Despite still wanting to hear Sylvester's side of the story, Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny decided that they would believe Porky Pig and forget about what Tasmanian Devil had said for the day. After all, they all four wanted to go swimming and this was not about to ruin their day. The Tasmanian Devil was probably just scheming and trying to ruin their day by telling Sylvester a lie to start all the gossip anyways.
After the group finally was able to pack everything up and shoo Tweety Bird out the door, they were off to the spring to enjoy the beautiful day at hand.

Author's Note:
For this Story I chose to mash up Gossip Spreads. In the original story, Rama hears a story about the gossip that his people are spreading about him and his queen Sita. Rama becomes very upset about the gossip his people are telling about his wife. Rama ultimately chose to listen to his people and their doubts about his wife. He chose to exile Sita to the forest. I decided to use the overarching theme of gossip in this story along with the Looney Tunes characters because it is something that many people can relate to. In this story, Rama thought he wanted to know the drama and was quite interested to hear it, almost as if he thought that he would hear great things about himself. Instead of sending Porky Pig away from the group, as Sita was exiled, I chose to have Porky's friends believe him.
However, with the theme of gossip, when we hear things that people are saying about us whether or not they are true it can be quite hurtful. Due to the way that gossip is such a big topic in most people's lives I thought it would be fun to create a story using gossip and show how it has the potential to turn friends against each other and ruin a perfect and fun day. Real world gossip is taken as truth more often than not. It is much easier for people to just believe what they are told rather than finding out the truth for themselves. In the end, the friends realize that they have to ask their friends for the truth before jumping to conclusions and blaming one another for things that may not even be true. Luckily for Porky Pig, his friends want the truth and decide to not believe the gossip they were told.
