Time passed by. The first expedition continued to explore and gather experience and resources while the villagers tried to gather and build what they could given our lack of stone.
The expedition once again ran into a pack of wild boars, and once again they emerged victorious, albeit with Bratumila heavily injured. With Bogumila's death still fresh on their mind, the group camped and prayed that she would make a quick recovery. After waiting for everyone to heal, the expedition broke camp and was much more cautious in their approach to the subsequent fights.
Back in Ostoya, Zoska completed the village's very first cabbage patch, giving hope to their continuing survival. We then continued to craft various items with the available resources, building up knowledge until we unlock the secret of gathering silver. With silver being a very useful material for both crafting and construction, the expedition came home to drop off their findings and directed their efforts to the nearby deposit. With the granite found during their various encounters, Zoska then began to construct the village's well and smithy, which should allow them to craft better items. Because of the materials used, the smithy would also give us a small chance of attracting demons to join our cause. We were once again visited by a Lapiduch, which bestowed a blessing of strength on some of our members.
It took a while for the first expedition to travel through the mountains and set up camp to gather silver, coal, and bird meat.
While both encampments were busy building and gathering, one of the children of Ostoya grew up. Working under Zoska, Miroslav became a craftsman to help with the constructions tasks. With his help, the well was soon completed, and started to give us a bit of random resources. The pair then started working on the smithy.
The next few days passed by quickly. Everyone was busy with their own tasks, and we were occasionally visited by wandering visitors. Some were hostile, some were not, but all were greeted appropriately. After the smithy was completed, we started to craft swords for ourselves out of our supply of mithril, silver, and bones.
One morning, a pigeon flew by and delivered a note. It seemed a Dwarven blacksmith nearby may need our help. After equipping ourselves with a couple of the new swords, we decided to visit the Dwarf. It turned out he wanted us to arrange a date for him with a demon. We accepted the quest and moved on. Before moving forward with the quests, however, we decided to clear out some of the known lairs in the area to protect our village and our children. On our way there, the first expedition was robbed by a group of four Dwarven bandits.
The expedition was beaten and stripped of most of their belongings. While everyone suffered injuries, Bolebor, Bolko, and Bratumila were beaten to an inch of death. We had to camp in the middle of nowhere to lick our wounds. Morale was definitely low.
The night passed by slowly, and once again, Bolko proved his worth and made sure that everyone made it through. As each night passed and people got better, morale started to climb as well. After all, we all survived together and we still had many important tasks ahead of us, a dwarf and his demon girlfriend not withstanding. After three long nights, the expedition broke camp and headed for the nearest lair.
Back in the village, one of the children grew up to become a warrior. Leshko stayed in Ostoya to help with the village's protection.
In the next few days, the first expedition continued to explore and fight. The villagers continued to gather and build, and our cabbage patch produced the first child of this hopefully better time. The very next day, a new member joined us. Vshebora was a skilled craftsman women. Things were indeed looking brighter.
With the new craftsman and recipes that we unlocked, we continued to craft shields and armors for our people.
