No clouds, perfectly clear; probably the best night skies ever for the history of LVSP!
Right before our scheduled event the US Forest Service said they were going to close our access road to do maintenance on Big Creek Bridge on CR16 which would affect our access. They were working on the bridge but their location had no effect for our access from the west (John day or Seneca). It was the same as previous years. Due to the miss-information from the USFS and sharing this information on our webpage, there were less attendees this year - about 22 in total. However, the USFS did keep Big Creek Campground open to us along with the water and vault toilets. They even did a vault toilet service right before our event. Thank you USFS!
This year we had a potluck and memorial to our main founder, Charles Barnard from West Seattle, WA. He was the one who pushed me to drive a little further east on CR16 to where we eventually found this perfect location for LVSP. We shared stories and experiences we had with Chuck - all the way back to the early 1990's at the original Table Mountain Star Party site, north of Ellensburg, WA. Below are a few photos from our memorial.

Below are the LVSP field photos and astronomy gear. In summary it was about as perfect conditions as one would hope. I viewed again IC-1101 at 1.1 billion light years distance. I can't emphasize enough on how good the night skies are here!
