I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan. My Ph.D. is in Political Science from the University of Michigan focusing on American Politics. My research interests include political parties, election administration, voter behavior, and political psychology. In my dissertation, I study how people react when parties and elections fail at being mechanisms for representation. My dissertation explores the consequences of elections in which voters experience impediments to voting how they wish. Since 2018, I've worked with Turn Up Turnout to increase and evaluate student civic engagement at UM. I have a B.A. in American History and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois Springfield.

I am originally from a small town in west-central Illinois. When I'm not working, I enjoy visiting family as well as watching, reading about, and thinking about baseball. I also enjoy golfing (usually poorly), jogging, and playing with my dog Jules.
