"We're creating an app that focuses on mental health and your journey."
Memo Moods stems from the idea that each day we find ourselves experiencing different emotions and feelings. Being able to quantify these daily shifts can allow patterns to become apparent and better understood. We hope that this project can help those who need to express and understand their feelings, but do not know what outlet to take. The name of the project is based on the primary function, recording a brief message, also known as a memo or memorandum. With the welcoming and friendly mascot of a cow, which came from the word ‘moo’ in moods.
Our app is decently simple compared to other apps on the market, but we took this idea and went with it. After talking with others about what they would want out of this sort of app, I noticed that simplicity seemed to stand out the most. We stuck to creating functions that worked and did our best to keep this consistent throughout the app. It was built with the intention of having an engaging and interactive experience to learn about your patterns. I spent around 105 hours in my portion of development.
Initially, we wanted to get the application published within the completion deadline for this honors experience. With the development itself taking longer than expected, it was determined that the development was to be the main focus of this experience. Rather than rushing it, it will make more sense to work on the testing to confirm it is ready to be public facing. We are still planning on publishing the application on Google Play soon.
