In this section, you will find line graphs that display the 2 pieces of information.
1. Bristol Stool scale (BSS) number for each Bowel Movement
2. Exact Time of each Bowel Movement (BM)
This allows me to examine each flare and look for patterns. You will notice flares often begin with a lower BSS number only to rapidly become a higher BSS number. I think that this partially explains the amount of pain and difficulty that is found with the early BMs during a flare.
Please note that a BM is considered separate after about 5 minutes without passing stool. Often during a flare, I pass stool several times within a five minute period. This is not always reflected by the specific time stamp which is an estimate. Similarly these graphs do not describe other symptoms involved with a flare, therefore these graphs should not be used to interpret the severity of a flare.
As you examine each graph, take special notice of the VERTICAL AXIS SCALE and the HORIZONTAL AXIS SCALE. They are adjusted for each flare's time frame and BSS type.
So be careful when interpreting different graphs together.
