Martin Steinert (MS) is Professor of Eng. Design and Innovation at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences – NTVA. Becoming Head of the newly formed Design and Engineering group (D&E) at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MTP) in 2022, he has published more than 240 articles, mostly on multidisciplinary prototyping of technology concepts and design of experiments as well as patents and other science communication. Having been amongst others at Stanford University as Ass. Prof. (acting) until 2013 and again in 2021 as visiting faculty, Martin has received grants as main PI from the US National Science Foundation, the National Science Foundation of Switzerland, and the Research Council of Norway, as well as from universities, foundations, and industry, totalling around 15 mil USD. MS is currently supervising 9 PhDs across NTNU and heads the thriving prototyping lab at TrollLABS that he founded in 2014. Based on a global ranking from Stanford in 2022, MS is in the top 1% within ME based on standardized citation indicators.

Jerome Faissat is the Managing Director of PIL Membranes Ltd, a UK-based leader in advanced polymer and membrane technologies. With over two decades of international business experience, Mr. Faissat has been instrumental in repositioning PIL Membranes as a global supplier of high-performance and durable membrane solutions used in demanding sectors such as medical, industrial, and protective apparel. Since joining PIL Membranes, Mr. Faissat has led a strategic transformation of the business. Under his leadership, the company has strengthened its focus on Energy self-reliance, value delivery, and developing PFAS-free membrane alternatives. Beyond his role at PIL Membranes, Mr. Faissat also runs in parallel 2 other businesses as Managing Director, KLT Filtration Ltd and PCL Ceramics Ltd, broadening his impact across advanced manufacturing and materials science. His work across these companies reflects a consistent commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and international market expansion. Mr. Faissat holds executive experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings, with a track record of delivering value with people.
