Submission Instructions

Submitted papers must be relevant to the themes of the 3rd International Workshop on Low-cost Digital Solutions for Industrial Automation (LoDiSA '25). We particularly welcome contributions focusing on affordable, scalable, and impactful digital technologies for industrial and manufacturing settings.

All submissions must be original and not under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to other conferences, workshops, or journals is strictly prohibited. Formatting and Length

• Papers must adhere to the IET double column conference format.

• Maximum length: 6 pages, including figures and tables (excluding references).

• Submissions exceeding the page limit will be rejected without review.

Highlight Low-Cost Orientation

Given the conference's focus on low-cost automation, we request that all authors make reference to low-cost orientation in their papers. For example (not an exhaustive list), this could include a) outlining the cost of technologies used, b) examining the cost of current approaches, c) highlighting low-cost or open-source tools used, or d) highlighting how the work directly benefits (budget-limited) SMEs.

AI policy 

The use of AI during research or publication is allowed. We ask that authors acknowledge any use in a short paragraph at the end of their paper. Please be aware that the publisher does not permit AI to be a co-author, and all authors are responsible for the content submitted, including that generated by AI.

In Person Presentation

Please be aware that all papers submitted must be presented in person (poster or presentation format). One full registration (£300) can be used for up to two papers. We would prefer that presenters do not present more than two papers, although you can be a co-author on any number. 

Submission Process

All papers must be submitted electronically via the EDAS system. The submission must be in PDF format and checked for compliance using the publisher’s PDF eXpress. 

Due to the large demand for the workshop, we have opened a poster and presentation session. Both tracks will be reviewed to the same standard, and accepted papers will be published in the proceedings. This allows for a larger number of participants on the day. During submission, you will be asked to state a preference for a poster or a presentation paper. 

There are three phases to submitting a paper:

3. Upload manuscript  - See image in the help section at the bottom for help with this

Review Process

Each submission will be peer-reviewed by at least two to three members of the Program Committee. 

Accepted papers will be notified by July 30th. Accepted papers will be presented at LoDiSA '25 and included in the official workshop proceedings. At least one author must register and present the paper at the workshop in person. Failure to present may result in exclusion from the proceedings and the digital library.

Authors of accepted papers will be required to submit a camera-ready version incorporating reviewer comments.
