Our research on local sustainability has generated three complimentary datasets of US cities' sustainability policy and implementation practices. Together they provide information on how local efforts have evolved over the ten-year period between 2010 and 2020.
Our research on local sustainability has generated three complimentary datasets of US cities' sustainability policy and implementation practices. Together they provide information on how local efforts have evolved over the ten-year period between 2010 and 2020.
The first survey effort, conducted in 2010/2011, is the Integrated City Sustainability Database (ICSD), that harmonizes data from seven independently administered surveys. We administered complementary surveys in 2015 and 2020 to all US cities with populations over 20,000. Survey instruments, dataset information, and reports of summary findings are available on their respective pages below.
