The UNODC is a UN Agency dedicated to educating the world about the dangers of drug abuse and strengthening international action against drug production, trafficking, and drug-related crime. UNODC also works to improve crime prevention and to assist with criminal justice reform in a number of countries. In this conference, delegates will be tasked with looking at how the UNODC can mold and adapt to the conditions of the 2020s. For example, how can the UNODC work to end drug abuse given a climate of mass drug decriminalization, and how does the UN help prevent new forms of organized crime- even cybercrime.
This is the only LoboMUN committee set in the present day. Delegates will be asked to think critically about the UN’s role in combating drug abuse and crime, given new understandings of the UN’s Western bias.
Below, you will find the background guide for this committee. To use the hyperlinks and the the table of contents, you may open the guide in a new window and download it.
