Letter from the Secretary-General

Hello Delegates!

I am honored to be announcing that the World Affairs Delegation has the privilege of hosting the 20th annual LoboMUN. LoboMUN is more than just a conference - it is a living, established tradition that we are incredibly lucky to create year after year. Each year, the club gets the chance to create new committees, memories, and the joy of elevating LoboMUN in a new way. We are thrilled you have chosen to participate this year, as I can assure you that the 20th LoboMUN is not one to miss!

Your continued participation in Model United Nations is something to celebrate - continuing to grow and build on your research skills, debate ability, public speaking prowess, and intellectual writing, is deeply admirable, especially when it is not required. The abilities and lessons you are learning now will serve you in any path you choose to peruse. Before we begin the next three days of confrence, I would like to state house rules. 

UNM's World Affairs Delegation, and myself, take any and all instances of bigotry in any form extremely seriously. Regardless if your committee is based in reality, fiction, or somewhere in between, you will be expected to treat all parties mentioned in debate, as well as your fellow delegates with respect first and foremost. If anything happens in committee that you are uncomfortable with, please alert your chair immediately, and I will handle the situation swiftly. We prioritize all delegates feeling safe and welcome, as well as respect being practiced for all groups mentioned in debate. 

With that being said, thank you to all of you for making LoboMUN as fun, educational, and exciting as it is. Without your attendance, enthusiasm, and participation, there would be no LoboMUN. Your passion has been key to sustaining the conference for the last twenty years. Additionally, thank you to all advisors. Your care for your student's passions and learning is another leading reason that the MUN circuit here in New Mexico is as wonderful and formative as it is.
