This Privacy Policy explains how the Loan Ledger mobile application ("the App", "we", "our") handles information. Loan Ledger is developed by [Sukhmander Singh] ("the Developer"). If you have any questions, contact us at [sukhmander.rj31@gmail.com].
By using Loan Ledger, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Loan Ledger is an offline loan and lending tracker. It is built to keep your data on your own phone rather than on our servers — we do not operate any backend server for this app, and we do not see, collect, or have access to the accounts, transactions, or photos you store in it.
Loan Ledger is a personal record-keeping tool, similar to a notebook or a spreadsheet. It is intended for individuals who lend their own money to people they already know — customers, family, or friends — or who track money they themselves have borrowed.
Loan Ledger does not:
lend, disburse, or transfer any money itself;
process loan applications or approve/reject borrowers;
connect users to the public, to other app users, or to any third-party lender or borrower (it is not a marketplace or matching platform);
charge, collect, or handle repayments on the user's behalf.
All money given or received is exchanged directly between the user and the other person (in cash, by bank transfer, or by any other means the user chooses), entirely outside the App. The App is only used afterward, by the user, to privately record and calculate the terms of that arrangement for their own bookkeeping. The Developer is not a bank, NBFC, or lender, and does not operate a lending business through this App.
The App stores the following information locally on your device, inside its private app storage:
Your profile: name, mobile number, email, and address, if you choose to enter them in Settings.
Customer/account records: name, mobile number, address, loan type, interest terms, and transaction history (amounts, dates, notes) that you enter for each person you lend to or borrow from.
KYC information (optional): document type, document number, and photos (of the customer and/or their ID document) that you choose to attach to an account. These are entirely optional and are only added if you choose to add them.
App settings: language choice, app-lock on/off, backup on/off.
None of this information is transmitted to the Developer or to any server we control. We do not have a copy of your data and cannot access, view, recover, or delete it on your behalf — it exists only on your device (and in your own Google Account backup, described below, if you turn that on).
Loan Ledger includes an optional "Automatic Google backup" switch (similar to how WhatsApp backs up chats). When this is turned on:
Android's built-in backup service periodically copies the app's database, settings, and KYC photos to your own Google Account (Google's servers), using Google's standard Android backup mechanism.
This backup is private to your Google Account. The Developer does not have access to it. Google's handling of this backup is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
You can turn this off at any time in the App's Settings, or manage/delete the backup from your phone's Settings → Google → Backup.
You can also manually export a backup file (a JSON file containing your account/transaction data) and save it wherever you choose (e.g. your own Google Drive), and manually restore from such a file. This is entirely under your control and is not sent to the Developer.
Loan Ledger offers an optional Premium subscription (to remove the free account limit), purchased through Google Play Billing. We do not collect or store your payment card details — all payment information is handled directly by Google Play. We only receive confirmation from Google Play of whether your subscription is active, which the App uses locally to unlock Premium features. See the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles this.
Photos/media access: only to let you pick an existing photo (customer photo or KYC document photo) from your gallery to attach to an account. The App does not access your photos in the background or for any other purpose.
Biometric/screen-lock (fingerprint, PIN, pattern): only used, if you enable "App lock" in Settings, to unlock the App itself using your phone's existing screen-lock method. The App never receives or stores your fingerprint data — this is handled entirely by your phone's operating system.
Internet access: used only for Google Play Billing (subscription purchase/verification) and Google's automatic backup service (if enabled). The App does not use the internet to send your account or customer data anywhere.
The App does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS, or call logs.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. The only parties that ever receive any information, and only under the specific circumstances above, are:
Google Play Billing — subscription purchase and status.
Google's Android Backup service — only if you enable automatic backup, and only to your own Google Account.
We do not use any advertising SDKs, and we do not run analytics or tracking services inside the App.
Premium subscriptions are billed and processed entirely through Google Play Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Google Play (Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions); cancelling stops future billing, and you keep Premium access until the end of the period already paid for.
Refund requests are handled according to Google Play's own refund policies, since Google Play processes the payment, not the Developer. You can request a refund directly through Google Play. We do not issue partial refunds for a subscription period already in progress, except where required by applicable law. If you have a billing concern, you can also contact us at the email below and we will assist you.
Your data stays on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can delete any account, transaction, or KYC photo at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all of its locally stored data from your device (and, if Google's automatic backup was enabled, deletes it from that Android backup slot). If you manually exported a backup file to your own storage or Google Drive, that copy remains wherever you saved it until you delete it yourself.
Loan Ledger is intended for adults managing personal or small-business lending records and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features. Any changes will be posted at this same location with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised policy.
