Established in 1952, Alpha Delta Gamma (ΑΔΓ) is the longest continuously operating fraternity at LMU. Scholastic achievement, service, spirituality, school spirit, and social engagement are at the core of our organization and represent our 5 S’s: the values that guide us in everything we do as an organization and brotherhood. Coming from all walks of life, we also value diversity and through abiding by these core tenets we aim to provide an accepting social environment to foster the growth of leaders. But, most importantly we provide a supportive atmosphere based on our motto, “A brother who is helped by a brother is like a city walled.”
Beta Theta Pi (ΒΘΠ) is a North American social fraternity that was founded in 1839 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The mission of the fraternity is to develop men of Principle for a Principled Life. Beta joined the Loyola Marymount University community in 2007. Beta hosts Beta Boat Races to raise money for their philanthropy, homelessness.
Delta Sigma Phi (ΔΣΦ) is a men's social fraternity, who strive to embody the values of brotherhood, academics, diversity, and leadership. Here at LMU, Delta Sigma Phi isn’t the “typical” fraternity. DSP has brothers involved in every aspect on campus, with majors ranging from theatre arts to electrical engineering, and brothers from all around the world. We are men of courage, men of action, and men of excellence. We are Better Men, Better Lives.
Delta Upsilon (ΔΥ) is the world’s oldest non-secret social fraternity, founded in 1834, whose members live out the mission of Building Better Men. Guided by DU’s principles, each brother upholds the ideal of “Justice, Our Foundation” through promoting friendship, advancing justice, developing character, and diffusing culture. Delta Upsilon supports Delta Upsilons Global Service Initiative, both an international philanthropy and global service opportunity. Delta Upsilon officially colonized at LMU in Spring 2019.
Lambda Chi Alpha (ΛΧA) looks to lead a co-curricular Greek movement, predicated on partnership and collaboration amongst the undergraduates, host institutions, alumni and General Fraternity, and offering an experience that focuses on the maturational development of today’s college man. At LMU, we strive to be involved in the general school environment through classrooms, on-campus jobs and the Greek Life Council. In the fall semester Lambda Chi raises funds for muscular dystrophy through a country-themed dance party called ‘Rodeo’.
Phi Delta Theta (ΦΔΘ) is a brotherhood, a family comprised of diverse, motivated gentlemen who each celebrate both their own individuality and the responsibility that comes with being a part of something that is greater than themselves. Through Phi Delt’s belief in encouraging intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth, Phi Delta Theta continually strives for the betterment of its members and the community as a whole and most recently hosted their first philanthropy event in support of the ALS Association. “Phi Fest” helped Phi Delt raise almost $5,000 for the ALS Association. Phi Delta Theta officially chartered as a chapter in Fall 2015.
In 1989, Sigma Chi (ΣΧ) blossomed the Iota Omega chapter at LMU based on the Seven Standards: a philosophy for embracing men of all temperaments, talents, and convictions. With active application of this philosophy, the Iota Omega chapter brings philanthropy to LMU’s community every Spring with Derby Days, an awareness and funding program for the Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center. The Iota Omega chapter does both Fall and Spring recruitment.
