Reflecting on the Learning Management Systems on this site, our recommendation for a LMS would be Schoology. Although Moodle is cost effective and offers accessibility in many languages and assessment options, its lack of video conferencing and slow connection speeds were big issues. Canvas appears well-built, and the customization could be beneficial for teachers looking for a specific feature set. Unfortunately, its lack of integration and high cost ruled it out. Google Classroom is great as a starter LMS for schools thinking about a LMS. It is a cost effective, easy to use interface with access to many applications. However, it lacks some of the more robust features of a true LMS.
Schoology, in our opinion, is the Learning Management System we would recommend. Schoology strikes a balance between robust features, numerous helpful integrations, a descriptive customer support website, and simplicity of use. Because it resembles a social media website, Schoology feels intuitive to teachers and students alike, making it our top recommendation for schools seeking a new Learning Management System.
